Track Meet

Grey had his first track meet yesterday at Washington School in Greenville.
He did well. He won the 2 mile, his 2 mile relay team came in 2nd, and he came in 4th in the 1 mile.
The weather was sunny and breezy and it was a great spring day to be outside.

Science Fair

Look at my cute boy at his first science fair. We went to Oxford and had a great time. Ely made friends with the boy sitting right next to him and seemed to have a really good time.
Happy 88th Birthday, Mamaw!

Ely iced and decorated a birthday cake for Mamaw.

Happy birthday, Mamaw! Ely, Angie, Mamaw Barton and I all surprised Mamaw Gillespie on Monday to help her celebrate her 88th birthday.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter from the fun bunch!!
We went to Memphis this year for Easter and stayed with John's brother Tal and his family. The boys had a lot of fun playing with their cousins Pace and Peyton. John's daddy also came and stayed along with Janie's mom from Florida.
A great time was had by all as we celebrated the reason for the season... our Savior's victory over death and our hope for eternal life through Him.
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13-14
Praying to see you on the narrow road...
With love,
Cindy

SNOW!!!
IT SNOWED!!! IT SNOWED!!!
We got snow yesterday for the first time in 8 years! It was the first time that the boys ever saw snow that they could remember. They were absolutely wild with excitement! They started off jumping on the trampoline throwing snowballs at each other and running around in the backyard playing with Sherman (who was also wild with excitement). Then they moved to the front yard to build a snowman. Grey did most of the actual building while Ely offered a steady dose of encouraging destruction. The laugher never stopped! They were completely giddy. The snowman was named Mr. Smell. As I watched my children having so much fun working on their snowman, my mind drifted back some 30-odd years to my sisters and I building our own snowmen in our front yard. I remember us paying such careful attention to every detail and building our snowmen with all the TLC that 4 girls could give. Boys, I discovered, relate to snowmen quite differently. Mr. Smell never did get a face. A hat and scarf were more than sufficient to cover his lumpy half-smushed head. The shutter on my camera had barely snapped a quick picture before Mr. Smell became the target in a snowball competition to see who could be the first to knock his head off. A pick-up game of snow-football finally ended poor Mr. Smell's short life as he found out that bystanders on football fields often get tackled.
I have pictures of all these events and many others....
Ely throwing snowballs at me (as I look at him through the window) and exploding into laughter as his snowballs stick to the window.
John pulling the boys on a tube behind the 4-wheeler all over the pasture this morning..... now that was some SERIOUS FUN! I don't have many pictures because my camera battery died, but just trust me when I say, "John is the king of fun ideas!"
And finally, just some random pictures of snow-covered things around my house. Since it will probably be another decade before we get any snow here again, I kind of went crazy with my photo documentation....
enjoy!
